The CoCal Team: More than a Group of Landscapers
The CoCal landscaping team is made up of professional, certified landscaping experts who specialize in the challenges of commercial landscapes. Yet, we're so much more than that. Every member of the CoCal team is a passionate environmental steward, an important part of the community, and a friendly neighbor. Serving Denver, Colorado, and the surrounding front range areas, our team provides a complete line of landscaping services exclusively designed for commercial landscapes. With decades of local experience and a focus on sustainable practices, the CoCal landscaping team is a hard-working group of individuals who provide dependable services our clients can trust.
The CoCal landscaping team serves a unique position in the community. We take care of the challenges of maintaining commercial landscapes with sustainable practices that improve the environment. Through these actions, the CoCal team becomes a partner with other local businesses and all members of the community.
The CoCal team is always shifting and growing. Depending on the season, our team may range from 150 employees to 350. Each team member expresses individual strengths that compile to make an outstanding group centered on creating beautiful, healthy Colorado landscapes. We begin with experienced outdoor enthusiasts and provide professional training and certifications to ensure every team member is prepared to complete landscape projects that will be beautiful, durable, and safe. Each individual on the CoCal landscaping team is a valued employee that helps contribute to our mission.
Management Team

Management is comprised of department heads all of which are exemplary leaders to not only their staff but all CoCal employees. Their role is to supervise, delegate, and execute to ensure all department operations are completed and in cohesion with all other aspects of the company.

Jesus “Chuy” Medrano CEO & President
Chuy is the CEO of CoCal Landscape and brings over 40 years of landscape experience to the company. He has successfully managed an annual labor force of more than 300 crewmembers while maintaining over 400 commercial and multi-family properties throughout the Front Range. Chuy has successfully completed numerous irrigation courses, representing virtually all major commercial irrigation manufacturers. In addition, he is a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) and a Chemical Applications Qualified Supervisor through the Colorado Department of Agriculture. His poise and demeanor made him the perfect candidate as the elected President of the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance in the inaugural year of the association and continues to be a leader in the landscaping industry. Chuy is so involved he was awarded the NALP trailblazer award to commemorate his outstanding leadership in the landscaping industry.
Carlos Medrano Vice President of Operations
Carlos has been working in the business since 2002 and has worked in all areas of the maintenance department. He earned his BS in Business Management from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2004. Previous positions include Branch Manager of the Longmont Co branch, Account Manager, Irrigation Technician and Maintenance Crew Member. Carlos is certified as a Landscape Technician, Backflow Preventer Tester and is a Qualified Supervisor for Chemical Applications with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Carlos is also certified in Sustainable Landscape Management (SLM).

Jody Medrano General Manager
Jody started working in the family business in 1993. He received his AS degree from Front Range Community College. He holds certifications as a Landscape Irrigation Auditor, Landscape Maintenance Technician and Operator for Chemical Applications. Jody has moved up ranks to achieve his current position and has worked in all facets of the company. Jody enjoys providing excellent service to all customers and contributing to the company’s success.
Fun Fact: Jody is a softball coach and has coached all three of his daughters in the sport

Mark Johnson CFO/Controller
Mark began working at CoCal in 2010 as the Controller for the company. Mark graduated with his BS is accounting form Ft. Lewis College and decided he wanted to travel. He lived in Brazil, Hawaii, and has visited many South American countries. He is extremely hardworking and has over 30 years of experience in accounting, making him an expert at his job.

Marisol Medrano HR Director
Marisol Medrano Mejia has worked for CoCal since 1998 working on a part-time basis as an Employee Relations Coordinator. In 2003 she was promoted to Human Resources Director. She has been in this position for 17 years. Mari also co- chairs the safety program for CoCal where she helps facilitate the monthly safety meeting and develop safety policies. Mari is a graduate of Metropolitan State University where she earned a degree in Chicano Studies and Sociology. She currently sits on as a Committee President of the National Hispanic Landscape alliance powered by NALP. She is a Board Member of Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC), OSHA certified (10-hour), ASCA Snow Certified, and CPR certified.

Stacy Parcell Enhancements & Construction
Stacy has worked for CoCAl since 2005. Her ability to look at the large picture makes her a great Manager in the Enhancement Department. She over sees an office staff of three designers and estimators and a field staff of 48 during peak season. She is hands on with both field and office staff ensuring that the best possible landscapes are both designed and installed. She holds degrees in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Master of Landscape Architecture from University of Colorado Denver. In addition, Stacy is OSHA certified and certified in sustainable landscape management.

CoCal Landscape Team Members
Account Managers
Account managers are to secure clients, initiate services, and maintain day to day account duties. It is the primary role of an account manager to communicate information regarding the customers concerns and the operations manager’s service. It is important to these employees that your needs are met with open, honest, and responsible communication.

- Communicate concerns or requests to field staff

Sarah Dominguez Account Manager
Sarah has worked with CoCal since 2015 and has over six years of customer service experience, making her an excellent account manager. She has held various positions during her time here which has provided her with excellent knowledge of the company’s operations.
Fun Fact: Sarah is 5’1 and has squatted a max of 225 lbs
Martin Medrano Account Manager
Martin has worked with CoCal Landscape in many capacities since 2001 and has been an account manager for several years. His experience in the landscape industry has allowed him to provide excellent service as an account manager.
Fun Fact: Martin enjoys playing baseball and currently plays on a competitive team.
Matthew Medrano Account Manager
Matthew has over 6 years of management, customer service, and sales experience. This experience coupled with his determination to go beyond the customers’ needs makes him a great account manager.
Fun Fact: Matthew enjoys playing soccer and currently plays in a competitive league.
Javier Suarez Northern Colorado Account Manager
Javier started working with CoCal Landscape in 2005 as a laborer and crew driver. He has risen from a laborer to leadman, to foreman, to irrigation tech, supervisor, and now account manager. Javier knows every aspect of the landscaping business and always acts in the best interest of the customer providing the best in customer service.
Fun Fact: Enjoys hiking, outdoor walks, and overall prefers being in nature
Business Developers
The duties of this department are to build a mutually beneficial and genuine relationship with current and potential customers. It is of the utmost highest importance to these employees to represent CoCal Landscape in a professional and genuine manner in all work they do. Business Developers work closely and in conjunction with the Sales & Operations Manager to ensure that set policies and procedures meet client expectations and CoCal Landscape quality standard. We like to present our sales team as the connection you have to the company who can answer all your questions and provide any assistance within their capacity.

Kelly Jimenez Business Developer
Kelly joined CoCal Landscape for the second time in 2022 as a New Construction Business Developer. Bringing almost 19 years of experience in the Green Industry. As a trusted partner, professional leader creating relationships into partnerships to help customers. Skilled at prioritizing multiple projects within a fast-paced business environments with trained and self-motivation needed to adapt quickly and produce in any industry. Over 15 years of experience in development and implementations of highly effective revenue growth strategies. With my decades of experience, integrity, tenacity and positive attitude. I work above and beyond to help maximizing returns from both new and existing customer accounts, not to mention internal customers as well. To create a long lasting creditable customer relationships.
TJ Loera Business Developer
TJ has 10 years of sales experience. He is constantly evaluating where the company can improve, and his innovative mindset has allowed the company to grow in various aspects. He always goes above and beyond his duties in not only the sales department but wherever else he is needed. His fresh set of eyes and young mind has had a tremendous impact on the company.
Fun Fact: Is a big sports fan and even plays baseball himself. In addition, he loves traveling and the outdoors.
Enhancements
The main goal of the Enhancements department is to use their creative skills to take the client's ideas and devise a plan to recreate that image in an outdoor space. It is vital to these specialists to work with the metrics and recreate the space to turn a dream property into a reality.

Dylan Gomez Designer and Estimator
Dylan has worked for the company since 2012. He has worked in many capacities such as a laborer, foreman, and now a designer and estimator. Currently, Dylan is pursuing a BA in Landscape Design to maximize his knowledge on his position.

Melody Rojas Special Services Coordinator
Melody has worked for the company since 2016. She began working as an irrigation assistant and learned how to keep things alive, while she was attending Front Range she discovered her passion for flowers and has moved to the Enhancement Department to help expand its Special Services. Melody is a true team player and is always wanting to learn new things, so is always volunteering to help out the estimators to help expand her knowledge of the green industry.
Fun Fact: is super crafty.
Operation Managers
Raul Gomez Senior Renovation Operation Manager
Raul has been with the company for 21 years and has excelled in every position he has held. He is hard working, determined, and has a winner’s mentality. What we admire most is his ability to lead and complete any task given to him. Raul is a Certified Landscape Technician and has over 30 years of experience in the green industry. He manages all renovations and enhancements labor force, as well as snow crews in the winter.
Alonzo Medrano Senior Maintenance Operation Manager
Alonzo Medrano has been working for CoCal Landscape for over 26 years. He is one of our founding employees and has done exceptional work throughout his time with CoCal. Alonzo has been in the landscaping industry for more than 40 year and is among our most skilled and experienced workers. He is a tremendous leader and his ability to properly train employees in a safe and efficient manner is what makes him a tremendous OM.
Javier Olivas Fleet Manager
Javier Olivas started his career with CoCal Landscape in 1994 as a mechanic. Javier is extremely intelligent, majoring in mechanical engineering and holds dozens of certifications. Such certifications include that of, automotive technician, automotive transmission technician, and small engine technician. With an astounding 30 years of experience Javier is an excellent Fleet Manager and maintains our company’s vehicles, tools, and machinery.
